The present state of the art set out to identify the research themes that have been advanced between 2015 and 2019 on the pedagogical practice of higher education in Colombia. This undergraduate work of the Bachelor's degree in philosophy, political and economic thought of the Santo Tomás University, methodologically made use of different matrices for the registration, organization and analysis of 73 knowledge generation products from both Higher Education Institutions (IES) as of Higher Normal Schools (ENS) under the search keywords of "pedagogical practice" and "higher education" in various national and international academic search engines. For the organization and analysis, SCIENTI (National System of Science, Technology and Innovation) was used to categorize them, each time they are products of new knowledge generation. Finally, it was concluded that, during the study period, the highest fuel production in 2019, in the area of knowledge of the social sciences - education sciences, in the missionary processes of formation and research of higher education.
