Resumen
The Bogotá River is a recipient of all types of waste, the presence of chemical substances such as heavy metals resulting from anthropogenic activities are increasingly common, this has caused the deterioration of the quality of this tributary to pose an environmental and social problem in the zone. Therefore, an environmental risk assessment is proposed for the presence of total chromium in the water of the Bogotá River in the section between Villapinzón and Suesca, comprising 4 sampling points. The methodology proposed by the University of Arizona was applied and the level of risk was quantified for 4 population groups. For all stations, an acceptable level of risk was obtained for the group from 0 to 5 years, and unacceptable for the other age groups. This allowed us to conclude that the risk is distinctive by gender, with the female gender having the highest risk except for the 6-14 year old group, due to the characteristics of the human being, such as body mass. The sampling point that obtained a greater concentration of total chromium corresponds to downstream of the town center of Villapinzón.
