Resumen
This research is carried out with the objective of determining the importance of the Pasaje Cadena as an articulating element of public life in Bucaramanga through the historical, political, socio-economic, architectural and urban analysis in which it developed during 111 years since its consolidation until today, through the review of historical archives of the municipality and the collection of information in situ, organized in graphic documentation to complement the architectural documentation and urban history of the city, in addition to setting a precedent that encourages future research and interventions on the existing network of commercial passages in the downtown sector. For this, in the space of the Semillero de Estudios Urbanos - SEURB, Bloom's methodology and its own tools are adapted to define the phases to be developed. In the first phase, the state of the art based on the historical, physical, spatial and environmental dimensions of the Methodological Guide for Urban Analysis (Narváez and Sevilla, 2020) is carried out. In the second phase, the results of the Guide are complemented by confronting them with urban and typological theoretical references. In the third phase, historical information on the passage and the Cadena family is collected and analyzed in the Municipal Archives. The final result of these phases is the graphic and textual documentation that explains how this passage was the first in the city and influenced the commercial development and public life in Bucaramanga.
