Training for the exercise of citizenship is understood as a challenge for the school and for Colombian society, because to achieve a true exercise of citizenship it is necessary to make sociocultural changes that convert the memorization of contents into critical pedagogical processes and where the Pedagogical practice demonstrates a continuing concern for the meaning of what is taught.
Learning to be good citizens is a matter for everyone, as it is necessary for harmonious coexistence in the home, school, home and everywhere. The human being must not limit himself to being a man only, he must give himself to the world as a social being, to be able to form a family, with the obligations of living in respect, responsibility and commitment. Taking into account the importance of citizen training in daily life and starting from direct observation in the Monseñor Manuel Sorzano González Polytechnic Institute College of the municipality of Málaga Santander, a program for the strengthening of citizen competencies was implemented in the axis of the coexistence and peace, since the primary need arose in the fourth grade in which the low coexistence and integration of the children of this course and also of the teachers in charge of the different areas, was shown as a problem to be solved.
