Comunicación asertiva y pautas de crianza usadas por padres jóvenes en tiempos de covid-19

Abstract

The objective of the research project was to analyze the relationship between assertive communication and the parenting patterns of young mothers and fathers in the city of Villavicencio in times of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is a quantitative research, with a cross-sectional design and a correlational scope, where the population was made up of young fathers and mothers with an age range of 20 to 25 years. The Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ) and the Multidimensional Assertiveness Scale (EMA) were applied. In the results, it was identified that there was no presence of the authoritative dimension for the PSDQ instrument since there was a greater predominance in the authoritative dimension and a lower score for the permissive dimension. In the EMA instrument, a higher percentage of normality was found based on the T score of 40-60 points, for the 3 dimensions indirect assertiveness, assertiveness and non-assertiveness. Regarding the correlations, it was evidenced that there was a statistically significant and positive relationship between the authoritative dimension and assertiveness, finally, it was observed that there is no significant relationship between the authoritarian and assertiveness dimensions.
