Throughout history, ways of managing everyday practices have made possible to establish a frame of reference to study the cultural phenomena that are expressed in it. Crime and culture, understood as mechanisms of understanding social dynamics, allow us to understand the conflicts of contemporary Colombian society, being represented from multiple perspectives within the Cultural Industry scenario. These products have modified within society the existing perceptions of reality, shaping new dynamics, from which the collectivities have understood the different components of the structures that make up reality, and in turn, have configured different patterns of relationship of themselves, not only with their environment, but also with their peers, transforming the practices of bonding and communication among them, in addition to their processes of cultural and political understanding. That is why the bet of this work focuses on the identification and problematization of the conflicts that arise between the popular and institutional criminal narrative, taking into account what is established within the popular tradition as the typical practices of banditry during the twentieth century in Colombia and, on the other hand, what is formally understood as crime within the institutional framework, (specifically in the Police and Military Forces), acting as a legitimizing and punitive entity of criminal narratives within social systems, perceiving crime as a social phenomenon that is subject to laws and norms, and which, therefore, determines the senses of the duty to be of the subject within a specific context.
