Resumen
The present study sought to analyze the relationship between video game consumption habits and social skills in a sample of 133 students from the undergraduate programs of the Santo Tomás de Villavicencio University who practice or make use of multiplayer role-playing video games online [MMORPG]. We made use of the López video game consumption habits questionnaire (2012) and the Rios social skills assessment scale (2014). The results show that there is no statistically significant relationship between the consumption habits of MMORPG video games and social skills in undergraduate students of the University Santo Tomás de Villavicencio. However, the details of the associated variables and the logical consistency of the results are discussed with reference to the bibliographic material available so far.
