dc.description.abstractBased on a study carried out in Colombian banking establishments, the strategies used by the Bancolombia group, Aval group and Davivienda for its internationalization process in Central America, such as direct foreign investment, joint ventures, acquisitions, strategic alliances and franchises that have been key to the expansion of these banks. On the other hand, the Uppsala internationalization process theory was determined and since it has been applied to its process of expansion and growth in the Central America region, it was also possible to identify the shortcomings of the other Colombian banking establishments that have not yet achieved its participation in the foreign market, in this way seeks to replicate these strategies for those banks.
