dc.description.abstractThe objective of the following research article is to propose the picture book as a didactic strategy to enhance the emotional intelligence. This strategy is applied with a group of six students from different ages and school grades, from primary and secondary; it has a total of eight sessions, in which 30 books that portrait different stories on how to recognize and manage emotions, were read, analyzed and socialized to understand the value of their own emotions and others’ emotions, based on the construction of experiences from their life stories. Furthermore, to stablish the theoretical framework it was necessary to go over the concepts of picture book, didactic strategy and emotional intelligence. Bearing in mind the research methodology, this paper focuses on a qualitative research, led by the action-research methodology applied in the school and takes as data collection instrument which is the participant observation based on the analysis made in the field notes, that allows to support and comprehend the behaviors, attitudes and changes that are notable through the application of the strategy according to emotional intelligence and its relationship with the picture book
