dc.description.abstractThis research project seeks to propose strategies and operations to improve the competitiveness of the bovine meat sector in Colombia through the implementation of strategies used by Brazil and Argentina as references in production and export in South America of the bovine meat market. This research is divided into chapters, being descriptive and documentary based on information collected from academic sources and government associations. Starting with an analysis of the bovine meat sector in Colombia through the main producing departments, followed by the production figures for the last 5 years, describing the production chain, the main commercial channels and destinations for the local and international market. Finally, through a matrix, the main problems present in the Colombian sector were identified. In a second instance, following the same structure, an analysis of the bovine meat market in Brazil and Argentina is made, identifying the regions and figures with the highest production, describing the productive and commercial chain of the local and international market. Identifying through a matrix the main strategies applied in each country. At the end of the third chapter, an analysis was made of the strategies used in Brazil and Argentina applicable to the problems identified in the Colombian meat sector, which will make it possible to improve and make the sector more competitive locally and internationally.
