Resumen
The research is conducted about Cartagena City in the neighborhoods of Crespo and Santa María and embrace the main issue of the environmental fragmentation due to: non-controlled urban growth; due to doings as: enlargement of international airport Rafael Nuñez runway, which produce the breakdown between the Biological Corridor (configuration of canals, lagoons and brooks) and the Cienaga de la Virgen marsh, the economic and hotel industry growth in the city is leading to lost of environmental awareness, the articulation and merging of the Crespo neighborhood and its surroundings with the rest of the city are leading to expropriation and decay of the territory in environmental, cultural and economic matters, consequently, the environmental fragmentation must be reduced with the implementation of a metropolitan park that promotes the environmental culture and strengthen the natural landscape. Therefore, the urban proposal includes the design of a neural network of equipment and public spaces where its main components are addressed to ecological and hotel tourism, and activities that promotes a recreational and sporting culture in Santa Maria neighborhood.
