La floricultura como alternativa de desarrollo turístico en el municipio de Tenjo, Cundinamarca

Resumen
The municipality of Tenjo is one of the centers with the greatest exercise of flower cultivation
in the department of Cundinamarca, however, this activity is not being potentiated for its tourist
development. In view of the above, it is highlighted that Cundinamarca is the epicenter of
floriculture in the country, producing 85%. It is for this reason that the Sabana de Bogotá has
become the area with the greatest floricultural development, constituting for several decades as one
of the most important sectors of the Colombian economy, having a presence in international
markets. Therefore, this investigation aims to design tourism development activities that encourage
floriculture with tourism in the municipality of Tenjo. Which aims that both tourists and the
community find a tourist and economic alternative improving the quality of life and promote the
arrival of visitors. This research was born due to the need to potentiate the floricultural activity,
this being the main source of economic income in the municipality of Tenjo, through tourism
development. That allows not only the recognition of the municipality, also promote this activity
and the economic, cultural and social rise of Tenjo. This text is developed by qualitative research,
where tools such as surveys and interviews were used, where the lack of projects that propose the
merger of the floriculture activity with tourism is determined.
