Resumen
“This research is focused on the use of digital dictionaries for students that faced problems
with English language pronunciation. I also realized that students improve pronunciation using speaking techniques and strategies, but sometimes these techniques and strategies do not help them satisfactorily. As a result, I based this research on a case of study following a qualitative approach method, because it was pretended to collect, analyze and present data properly.
Therefore, for collecting and analyzing information, some instruments were applied such as a researcher’s journal, consulting guides, a digital dictionary program, semi-structured interviews and voice recordings. This study was composed through face to face sessions in
which the participants expressed opinions about the interaction with instruments. All the responses were noted in a researcher’s journal. After the collection of data, I analyzed it by
categorizing the responses of students in charts. At the end of the study, I interpreted all of the charts in depth. And finally, I obtained some of the advantages and disadvantages of the use of the digital dictionary for improving pronunciation.”
