Resumen
The models business of many industries have led to continuous pollution and exploitation of the planet's resources. Mainly, the textile industry is one of those that generates the most negative impact on ecosystems, since it affects water, land and atmosphere throughout its supply chain and even with its products once they are discarded by consumers.
In that is why, since the beginning of this millennium, the United Nations Organization has been implementing actions to diminish the negative aspects acting from the economic, social and environmental, obtaining as a result today a search for collective welfare and that in turn allows harmony between people and the environment through the 2030 Agenda.
In order to understand the decision to purchase from consumers, three important actors in society were evaluated: these were the companies and their actions, the consumers and their behavior, and the Government, together with its laws and regulations, in Colombia and Spain. This comparative analysis allowed us to observe the similarities and significant differences between both countries, but it is the latter that allowed us to show the great legal gaps that exist in Colombia, the lack of actions of textile companies, and the little awareness that the Colombian consumer has about the post-purchase on their clothing.
Therefore, it was evidenced that Colombia has a great opportunity to have a development of the textile industry through sustainable consumption, through green marketing business practices and effective communication strategies that change the decisions in which clothing is consumed today
