Resumen
The objective of the research was to identify the ways in which three groups of upper-middle-class women of different age groups understand and relate to menstruation and the menstrual cup. Among the main findings, it was found not only that the ways of understanding both menstruation and the menstrual cup differ substantially between age groups, but also that the discourses that women construct around the menstrual cycle, menstrual bodies and the different products for the menstrual hygiene, are fed from different spaces of socialization of the individual, such as family, friends, medical speeches and advertising. In this way, it was concluded that a discourse prevails that not only relegates menstruation to the private sphere, but also a stigma is built that, to a certain extent, keeps women in a subordinate and dominant position with respect to men.
