This paper examines the sanction of removal from office of public servants of popular election and its consequences on the political rights of voters, in the context of a representative democracy. To this effect, it studies the rules of the public service in Colombia and the disciplinary oversight of elected of-ficials, as well as the consequences of their removal from office over the right to choose of citizens. This analysis shows how the removal of public elected officials by a disciplinary sanction limits the political rights of its constituents, since that officer is elected to embody their political will
