Resumen
This text shows how risk has become a popular topic in recent decades and how this process affects the field of health promotion, including issues related to lifestyle, genetics, and socio-cultural contexts. In addition to discussing the technical, methodological and theoretical aspects, it draws attention to advertising associated with the perception of constant threats and obsessive aversion to all risks. Although –of course– they do not apologize for excessive exposure to recognized threats to health and life, they adopt a critical attitude towards the generator of “risk-phobic” behavior, anxiety and insecurity.
