The purpose of this study was to establish the relation of suicidal intention and suicidal ideation with some sociodemographics variables, the characteristics of the disease, the antirretroviral treatment and the psychoafective aspects in people with VIH/AIDS who are living in Bogota, Colombia and who are part of a particular aid foundation. It was taken a simple of 75 positive VIH patients who were evaluated with a semistructured interview and two further instruments: The Beck Depresión Inventory (BDI) and the Scale for Suicidal Ideation (SSI). It was found a meaningful statistic correlation between suicidal ideation and intention and age, socioecomic status, gender, disease characteristics, drug treatment and psychoafectoive aspects
