Resumen
The work seeks to evaluate how the digital insertion of Smart Cities can generate a cost for democracy in three cities of the world: Dubai, Medellín and Copenhagen, in a context where urban political management, and the participation of the people against their governors, can evolve progressively towards a digital form based on a more precise notion of the concept of democracy. For this, the work describes the theoretical concepts of real democracy and the digital insertion of Smart City with its components. Later, the thesis points the characteristics of the deployment and configuration of this Smart City insertion in the three mentioned cities. Finally, an analysis is carried out over the cost these digital insertions have on the notion of democracy in Dubai, Medellín and Copenhagen. The methodology used is 'mixed' based on the non-comparative study case analysis tool. In the conclusions section, what is developed in the analysis is compiled to verify or deny the hypothesis which establishes that the greater the digital insertion of the Smart City of Dubai, Medellin and Copenhagen, the cost of their democracies is reduced and a result is generated progressive change in the management of cities.
