dc.description.abstract | This article reveals a particular enlightened activity related with the diffusion ofsome modern health practices carried out by a group of Neogranadian priests in theirterritory. The activities of some enlightened priests are studied regarding to some aspects which were object of an attempt to reform or regulate by the Bourbon Monarchy,since the mid-eighteenth century: reorganisation and urban sanitation measures , aswell as the re location of cemeteries out of the Churchs; the rules to stop the progressof the epidemic, specially mumps, which decimated the population, and their rolesharing their knowledge of health in the villages. | |
