The relations between latin america and china: a focusing approach

Abstract

This essay tends to provide an approach focus to the analysis of relations between Latin America and the Popular Republic of China (RPC) from an international studies perspective. The growing economic, diplomatic and military projection of China in the region deserves more detailed and solid research on its meaning and extent. Meanwhile, the study of Chinese-Latin American ties can not be performed without incorporating the impact of the United States on them.

Este ensayo busca aportar un enfoque que permita aproximarse al análisis de las relaciones entre Latinoamérica y la República Popular China (RPC) desde la perspectiva de los estudios internacionales. La creciente proyección económica, diplomática y militar de China en la región amerita realizar investigaciones más detalladas y sólidas sobre su significado y alcance. A su vez, el tratamiento de los vínculos sino-latinoamericanos no puede efectuarse sin incorporar el peso e impacto de Estados Unidos en los mismos.
