Dos miradas sobre el entorno natural. Casa de la Cascada, Casa Kaufmann, dos arquitectos, un cliente

Abstract

El propósito central de esta tesis es develar las miradas que parecen estar presentes al abordar el entorno natural en dos casas emblemáticas americanas del siglo XX: la Casa de la Cascada (Fallingwater, 1936-1939) y la Casa Kaufmann (1946- 1947) desde la perspectiva de dos de los arquitectos más importantes de la época moderna, Frank Lloyd Wright y Richard Neutra, realizadas en diversos momentos y lugares para un cliente en común: La familia Kaufmann. Expone los hallazgos investigativos más relevantes que nos permiten establecer las maneras de encarar el entorno natural por parte de Wright y Neutra, contraposiciones y coincidencias en su filosofía y su relación con el orden y las leyes naturales, lo que nos ayuda a poner en cuestión de modo más general, si existe una única o variadas miradas del proyecto en el sitio y de qué manera las acomodaciones y tensiones de los modos de vida y la escucha atenta de las actividades humanas y deseos del cliente repercuten en las leyes y lógicas internas de estas obras icónicas. The central purpose of this thesis is to reveal the glances that seem to be present when approaching the natural environment in two emblematic American houses of the 20th century: the Fallingwater(1936-1939) and the Kaufmann House (1946-1947) from the perspective of the most important architects of the modern era, Frank Lloyd Wright and Richard Neutra, realized at various times and places for a common client: The Kaufmann family.
