Festival del burro en San Antero: la quema de Judas

Abstract

Este trabajo pretende presentar en forma fenomenológica, analítica, histórica y hermenéutica el Festival nacional del burro que se celebra en San Antero (departamento de Córdoba). El inicio temprano del Festival se encuentra en el “paseo del burro” que comenzó a realizarse a inicios del siglo XX en dicho municipio. Paseo que culminaba con el juicio, la lectura del testamento y la quema del Judas el Sábado de Gloria. El Judas es un muñeco de paja, papel y ropa usada que es paseado siendo objeto de burlas y mofas y luego quemado el Sábado de Gloria. Se hará un rápido recorrido por el origen y la presencia de esta costumbre a nivel universal, de tal modo que se tenga una visión general del asunto, y luego se focalizará sobre la fiesta en el municipio. Se utilizan fuentes primarias, entrevistas a personas del pueblo y fuentes secundarias de información e interpretación.

This work aims to present in a phenomenological, analytical, historical and hermeneutical way the National Donkey Festival that is celebrated in San Antero (Colombia). The early beginning of the Festival is stated in the “ride of the donkey” that started by the first decades of the twentieth century in the municipality. Ride that ended with the trial, the reading of the testament and the burning of Judas the Saturday of Glory. Judas is a doll of straw, paper and used clothing that is strolled while being mocked and then burned on the Sabbath of Glory. Primary sources such as interviews with people from the village are used, as well as secondary sources of information and interpretation.
