Given the spatial conflict between the establishment of productive areas and the creation of conservation areas, the land sharing land sparing debate has arisen, which proposes two landscape management strategies in which these areas are combined or separated. This debate has been widely discussed at a theoretical level, but at a practical level and in terms of landscape land use planning, it has not been sufficiently applied. In this context, the goal of this project is to build a spatial methodological approach to identify suitable areas for the establishment of landscape management models for land sharing and land sparing in the Andean region of Colombia. The Colombian Andes are an ideal area to evaluate the applicability of landscape management strategies framed in the land sharing and land sparing models, since it is considered a biodiversity hotspot due to its high levels of endemism, besides being the great food pantry of the country due to its agricultural production. Thus, this thesis evaluates three dimensions associated to the models in parallel: a) biological and ecological, b) landscape structure and c) socio-economic through different spatial products, and determines which conditions are suitable to each of the approaches through the application of a supervised classification model using random forest. Finally, it proposes strategies associated with each of the models, thus building a methodological approach that can be considered for land-use planning processes in any country
