dc.description.abstractEn esta revisión ampliamente ilustrada se destacan dos aspectos a saber: un completísimo capítulo donde se estudia minuciosamente y en forma crítica la morfología del grupo a través de la organografía, la arquitectura, la anatomía y l,;1 citología de las H aloragaceas; a esto acampanan interesantes datos sobre la historia taxonómica, la posible simbiosis de las especies de Gunnera con los hormogonios de Nostoc endofíticos, los usos y la distribución geográfica y l,;1 evolución de la familia. El segundo aspecto comprende el completísimo capítulo relativo al tratamiento sistemático, donde el autor trata 25 especies, 2 de Mvriophyllum y 23 de Gunnera; de estas últimas, 17 han sido propuestas por él junto con una nueva subespecie y 5 1ariedades.
