La región social. El caso del río Cusiana

Abstract

Las definiciones tradicionales de región, espacio, territorio no responden a la función y estructura social del territorio y, por el contrario, genera conflicto con los diversos actores sociales del territorio que tienen otros sentidos o cosmovisiones, maneras de entender el mundo. Se propone en este trabajo una concepción de una región funcional-estructural. Se aborda el concepto de región desde un ámbito antirregionalista y constructivista, brindando una idea de lo que puede ser una región funcional, entendida desde la Teoría General de Sistemas en un entorno que la influye, pero no la determina (la ficción del Estado-Nación, las lógicas de mercado, entre otros) que a su vez funciona como un sistema social de ficción estructural no funcional.

The traditional definitions of region, space, territory do not respond to the function and social structure of the territory and, on the contrary, generate conflict with the various social actors in the territory who have other meanings or worldviews, ways of understanding the world. A conception of a functional-structural region is proposed in this work. The concept of region is approached from an anti-regionalist and constructivist scope, providing an idea of what a functional region can be, understood from the General Systems Theory in an environment that influences it, but does not determine it (the fiction of the Nation-State , market logics, among others) which in turn functions as a non-functional structural fictional social system.
