Modular la arquitectura de conexión : la dinámica en el espacio estructurante de la Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango

Abstract

Esta tesis describe tres aspectos de un proyecto en el cual se puede taxonomizar cierta riqueza irregular: la Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango. El aspecto constructivo, relativo a la operación en el campo de intervención con partes, unidades con autonomía que constituyen el conjunto; el aspecto funcional, que hace énfasis sobre el espacio con rol estructurante para el conjunto: la Arquitectura de Conexión; y el aspecto proyectual fundamentalmente, que alude a la experiencia propiciada por la multiplicidad de eventos presentes en dicho espacio estructurante. * La Arquitectura de Conexión es el término con el cual Louis Kahn describe la potencia proyectual que tienen los espacios de circulación en un edificio. Después de la mirada general a la BLAA, el análisis de su arquitectura de conexión ha permitido entender que el resultado no se debe solamente a la necesidad de adaptación y articulación propia de un código funcional estructurante, sino también a un proceso proyectual con el cual se modulan los rasgos dimensionales del continuo en favor de un orden visual. La fragmentación del continuo en favor de un análisis particularizado y, posteriormente, la síntesis panorámica de los datos obtenidos, da cuenta de una presencia compleja. Como en la ciudad, las múltiples anomalías que han sido incluidas, en la biblioteca pueden ser explicadas mediante un esquema arquitectónico mestizo. La acentuación mediante la yuxtaposición de variaciones, contrastes y oposiciones propicia que las relaciones se perciban con tensión, irregularidad, o muy débilmente y eso explica lo altamente dinámica que ha sido su modulación. La BLAA es un edificio hecho de edificios y su arquitectura de conexión hace posible la experiencia urbana en un ambiente interior. The thesis describes three aspects of a project in which certain irregular wealth can be taxonomized, the Luis Ángel Arango Library. The constructive aspect: relative to the operation in the field of composition with parts, units with autonomy that constitute the whole; the functional aspect: which emphasizes the space with a structuring role for the whole (the Architecture of connection); and the projectual aspect: fundamentally, which alludes to the experience fostered by the multiplicity of events present in said structuring space. * Architecture of Connection is the term used by Louis Kahn to describe the projectual capability of circulation spaces in a building. After the general look at the Luis Ángel Arango Library, the analysis of its Architectural Connection has made it possible to understand that the result is not only due to the need for adaptation and articulation of a structuring functional code, but also to a design process with which they modulate the dimensional features of the continuum in favor of a visual order. The fragmentation of the continuum in favor of a particularized analysis and, subsequently, the panoramic synthesis of the data obtained, accounts for a complex presence. As in the city, the multiple anomalies that have been included, in the library can be explained through a mestizo architectural scheme. The accentuation through the juxtaposition of variations, contrasts, and oppositions encourages relationships to be perceived with tension, irregularity, or very weakly, and that explains how highly dynamic their modulation has been. The Luis Ángel Arango Library is a building made of buildings and its Architecture of Connection makes the urban experience possible in an indoor environment. The library is the institution of the public, the library is the circulation.
