dc.description.abstractLa Gestión de Conocimiento en Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES) puede ser analizada a partir del Capital Intelectual (CI), el cual se encuentra conformado por una serie de recursos y actividades intangibles; las cuales se convierten en elementos valiosos y diferenciadores para las IES. El propósito de la presente investigación es proponer un marco analítico de las interacciones entre recursos y actividades intangibles de CI, y la contribución al fortalecimiento de ventajas competitivas, a través de las competencias core. Para tal fin, se empleó como diseño metodológico la articulación entre Modelamiento de Ecuaciones Estructurales (SEM) y simulación con Dinámica de Sistemas. Respecto a la originalidad y valor de la investigación, no se identificaron estudios previos que analizaran la complejidad y el comportamiento dinámico de la relación entre CI, competencias core y ventajas competitivas en IES. Los resultados muestran que es posible articular recursos intangibles de capital intelectual en actividades centrales que se convierten en competencias core y fortalecen las ventajas competitivas en IES. A su vez, los resultados empíricos evidencian la necesidad de reconocer las características y nivel de madurez de gestión de CI en cada IES. Esto permite identificar los requerimientos de direccionamiento estratégico y recursos intangibles que interactúan en competencias core, los cuales pueden pertenecer a una o varias de las categorías centrales de CI. A su vez, se pudo establecer una serie de recursos y actividades intangibles valiosas entre las cuáles se destacan métodos de enseñanza-aprendizaje, calidad del docente, cooperación interdepartamental, alianzas estratégicas, servicio al cliente, inversión en capacitación, inversión en estrategias de mercadeo y acciones de mejora de la calidad del servicio educativo. De este conjunto de activos intangibles, se desprenden las competencias core más representativas que fortalecen ventajas competitivas en una IES: investigación, transferencia de conocimiento, iniciativas interdepartamentales e imagen. dc.description.abstractKnowledge Management in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) can be analyzed from Intellectual Capital (IC), which is made up of a series of intangible resources and activities, becoming a valuable and differentiating element for HEIs. The aim of this research is to of this research is to propose an analytical framework about the interactions between resources and intangible activities of IC, and their contribution to strengthening competitive advantages through core competences. A multivariate statistical analysis through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) and System Dynamics Simulation were used as a methodological design. Regarding the originality and value of the research, no previous studies analyzing the relationship between IC, core competences, and competitive advantages in HEIs were identified. The results show that it is possible to articulate intellectual capital intangible resources in core activities that become core competences and strengthen competitive advantages in HEIs. In turn, the empirical results show the need to recognize the characteristics and maturity level of IC in each HEI. This allows identifying the requirements for the strategic direction and intangible resources that interact in core competences, which may belong to one or more of the central categories of IC. In turn, it was possible to establish valuable intangible resources and activities like as teaching-learning methods, teacher quality, interdepartmental cooperation, strategic alliances, customer service, training investment, marketing investment and actions to improve the quality of the educational service. From this set of intangible assets, the most representative core competences that strengthen competitive advantages in an HEI are: research, knowledge transfer, interdepartmental initiatives and image.
