Objective. To find the meeting points between the theoretical and practical proposals of Antonio Gramsci and Paulo Freire, and interpret them in the light of the current Latin American socio political context. Methodology. A review and interpretative analysis of Gramsci and Freire's work was considered, and this was articulated with the thoughts of other authors who form part of the current Latin American critical thingking. Results. The results of the interpretative analysis show that Antonio Cramsci's approaches, fundamentally those which he developed in his Notebooks, contain meeting points with Paulo Freire's political-educational proposal. Conclusion. It is concluded that the heterodox perspective of Gramsci's Marxism is manifested in Paulo Freire's thought and in his political educational proposal with a Hegelian humanist conception expressed in his educational proposal, which is synthesized in the praxis for transformation and liberation.
