Análisis espacial y temporal de la accidentalidad y muerte generado por el uso de la motocicleta en el área Metropolitana de Bucaramanga

Abstract

Motorcycles have shown an exponential growth in the country, which together with the few requirements and controls when buying a vehicle of this type, has made them one of the biggest problems of road safety and health system, for this reason this research work was carried out with the firm objective of developing an analysis with an integral approach where citizen behavior, institutionality, infrastructure, equipment and type of vehicle interact, allowing the design of public policy recommendations aimed at preventing accidents and deaths from the use of the motorcycle. For this, a methodology of systematic review was used, in order to collect all the information about the probabilities of accidents produced by Motorcyclists in Bucaramanga and its Metropolitan Area. Within this investigation it was possible to demonstrate that the measures that must be taken to guarantee a healthy attitude in the face of mobilization, have not achieved complete control over this. There is still worrying evidence of cities with minimal control of the problem and high rates of accident. And this lack of action and ignorance on the subject is due to the fact that road accidents are conceived as mere fortuitous acts instead of a determining pattern of the problem in the different regions.

Las motocicletas han mostrado un crecimiento exponencial en el país, que unido a los pocos requisitos y controles a la hora de comprar un vehículo de este tipo, las ha convertido en uno de los mayores problemas de seguridad vial y del sistema de salud, por esta razón se realizó este trabajo de investigación con el firme objetivo de desarrollar un análisis con enfoque integral donde interactúen el comportamiento ciudadano, la institucionalidad, la infraestructura, el equipamiento y tipo de vehículo, que permita diseñar recomendaciones de política pública orientadas a prevenir los accidentes y muertes por el uso de la moto. Para esto se utilizó una metodología de revisión sistemática, con el fin de recolectar toda la información acerca de las probabilidades de accidentalidad producida por los Motociclistas en Bucaramanga y su Área Metropolitana. Dentro de esta investigación se logró evidenciar que las medidas que deben tomarse para garantizar una actitud saludable frente a la movilización, no se ha logrado un control completo respecto a esta. Aún hay preocupantes evidencias de ciudades con control mínimo de la problemática y con altas tazas de accidentabilidad. Y este falta de acción y desconocimiento sobre el tema se debe a que los accidentes viales son concebidos como meros actos fortuitos en vez de un patrón determinante de la problemática en las distintas regiones.
