Culturas y convivencia al interior de la universidad de ciencias aplicadas y Ambientales U.D.C.A

Abstract

Las instituciones educativas son escenarios cotidianos donde se observan comportamientos sociales a partir de diversas prácticas culturales. La investigación realizada, de tipo cualitativo-descriptivo, abarcó dos temáticas en la vida de toda comunidad: la cultura y la convivencia y sus respectivos rasgos. El conocimiento de éstas ayudan al direccionamiento eficiente de los programas y de los proyectos realizados por el Departamento de Bienestar Social Universitario en la U.D.C.A, y así resuelven o satisfacen los requerimientos en los diversas áreas que complementan la formación integral de la población universitaria. En el estudio no se encontraron evidencias para afirmar sobre la existencia de prácticas cotidianas donde se manifiesten tratos de discriminación entre estudiantes y/o docentes, dada la diferencia en su región de origen. Con estos resultados, se puede ratificar que la universidad cumple con una de las funciones de la educación superior: ser un espacio donde se fortifica la democracia y la paz, donde se imparte una enseñanza para la mejor convivencia y el respeto por la diversidad. La participación, el manejo de conflictos, el desarrollo de habilidades de liderazgo están presentes en el contexto educativo y profesional.

Educational institutions are every day stages where social behaviors, having its origin from diverse cultural practices, can be observed. This research, of the qualitative-descriptive type, involved two topics, common within the life style of any community: culture and the act of living together. The knowledge of these mentioned topics leads to an efficient planning and setting of projects and programs performed by the universities Department of Social Welfare and helps to resolve and satisfy the requirements in the different fields that complete the integral formation of the students population involved. In this study no evidence was found which could revea! the existence of daily routines of discriminative treatments between students and/or teachers because of cultural differences due to the región of origin. With these results, it can be ratified that the university fulfils one of the functions demanded by higher education: to be a space where democracy and peace is strengthened and where teaching for a better coexistence and the respect of the cultural diversity is implemented. Participation, conflict- management, the development of leadership skills is present in the educative and professional context.
