Resumen
Background: Lifting and tightening of the neck is a frequent reason for consultation in aesthetic medicine. There are different proposed treatments, but it is not known with certainty which presents the best results. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the evidence related to the results after the minimally invasive treatments for neck laxity according to the literature. Methods: A systematic review of the literature was carried out in the main medical databases: pubmed, embase, LILACS, science direct, trip medical database; taking into account the results of different minimally invasive procedures (YAG-Laser 1.440Hz, monopolar radiofrequency, microfocalized ultrasound, fractional laser and infrared light) made in a population over 30 years of age. The evidence was extracted and the results presented. Results: The search yielded a total of 2145 studies, we finally selected five studies for meeting inclusion criteria. Among the therapeutic options available for neck laxity, micofocalized ultrasound, monopolar radiofrequency and laser provided the best results, including monopolar radiofrequency with longer effects up to 180 days. No major adverse effects were reported. Conclusion: Currently there are multiple options for the management of neck laxity, thermal induction of collagen through radiofrequency and microfocalized ultrasound that offers a marked improvement in laxity and are likely to be combined with other therapies obtaining an optimal result. The appropiate patient selection is always mandatory.
