Resumen
Introduction: Suicidal behavior is the biggest problem of public health in the world, this is shown by the figures of the World Health Organization in which reports that annually, about 800,000 people take their lives and many more try to do so (1), it was opportune to carry out this research with the objective of identifying the Prevalence and family factors associated with suicidal behavior in two schools in the city of Leticia Amazonas in students aged 15 to 17 years. Methodology: Analytical cross-sectional observational in the Leticia amazonas student population. In which previously validated scales were applied, the associated factors and the prediction of suicidal behavior were determined with a multivariate model. Result: a prevalence of 65.5% for the female sex and 89.4% for the middle stratum that presented suicidal behavior, in the same way the behavior was associated with the female sex with a PR = 1.66 (95% CI: 1, 24-2.21), not having support network RP = 1.86 (95% CI 1.30-2.67), alcoholic beverages until drunkenness RP = 1.56 (95% CI 1.18-2, 06), having presented affective disorders RP = 3.06 (95% CI 1.22-7.63) and having gone through some stressful event in life RP = 1.71 (95% CI 1.16-2.54) ) which were predictors of suicidal behavior in the logistic regression model. Conclusions: Suicidal behavior is frequent in the adolescent population, which warrants an important intervention in vulnerable groups and the work of the identified risk factors in order to reduce this behavior.
