dc.description | This article is called “Games, group work, and motivation, three ways of improving speaking production skills” since these strategies were useful and necessary to support and increase the target language learning in relation to oral production skills. This study case was carried out in an 11th elective class from a subsidized school belonging to a recognized Educational Chilean Foundation located in Santiago Centro with several schools around the city. In this establishment, the class observation and questionnaire surveys allowed two tensions and consequently research questions arose: how may games promote motivation in high school students from an elective class to improve oral production skills? And how would group work encourage students to speak in L2? For this purpose, based on the five-lesson unit planning called Our World, the approach implemented was Communicative Language Teaching to develop the ability to communicate. In order to prepare students for a next international certification PET, learners worked the content through games and group works to promote participation and interaction, in addition to motivation to improve their oral skills | |
