The aim of this article is to inform and reflect upon the use of the Communicative Language Teaching Approach to develop speaking skill in 8th grade students from a subsidized school in La Florida. The Communicative Language Teaching or CLT is a tool for developing the weak oral production in students as it gives emphasis in the communicative activities such as: role-plays, pair and group work. The intervention will take into account the objectives in the oral skill established in the study programs by the Ministry of education , but considering new roles for teachers and learners and giving emphasis on pair and group activities that can help to the students in the use of the foreign language.
