Artículo para optar al grado de Licenciada en Educación. Improving participation through team work is a good strategy used to have a class with more motivated students and in that way get better results. The intervention is made in a public school from Santiago. This school has a high rate of vulnerability and most of the families are poor. This article has a communicative approach where students must interact with their classmates and teacher. In this article we will see six teams with three leaders in every one of them. These teams will have to work together in order to get good participation marks in every class. So the aim of this intervention is to improve participation in their team works. The leaders of these teams are important because the classmates have to obey and respect these leaders. They have the biggest role inside their teams. As Siciliano, J. I. (2001) expressed that a positive role inside the teams can involve more students inside their teams, and they all will participate, discuss and everyone will play their roles. The teacher believes that students that feel motivated in their teams will participate more. He also believes that teamwork is a good strategy to feel more committed with the class and their classmates. So the students will not fail to their teams and in that way they will participate in the class in order to not affect the team.
