dc.description.abstractThe paper presents a look at the current social commitment university librarian and socially responsible management, through the library and the concept of "connectedness". It is proposed that the social of librarians working in university library stock, can vary, leading to university libraries that can reach different groups of people, without distinction, collaborating with its closest external community. The article also presents the work of a group of librarians who work in the Library of the University of Concepcion, Campus Chillan. Which through an effective and systematic social engagement, forming assume new roles, working with the new educational model, which requires somehow help reduce the inequality that makes a difference in the quality of life of citizens.
