T The present work undertakes the design of a Management System for Smart Home Services, characterized by the capability of user commanded services adaptability. The system developed focuses on an approach to the problem of system adaptation to each user's requirements. The proposed solution utilizes a CASE design tool which delivers software scalability and configurability. Additionally, the CASE design tool assures a long life to the system. Also, a study was developed of each part that comprises the system, with the purpose of offering a robust and reliable system, that allows in the future to add elements to the system in a practical and straightforward manner. This thesis document describes all the stages (analysis, design, implementation, tests and results) that were conducted for development of the prototype Smart Home system, and offers theoretical and practical foundations for future investigations in the area of Smart Home. The importance of this research work consists on the automation of the maintenance stage, which yields time saving, cost reduction, customized services and code reutilization, and minimization of codification errors.
