The goal of this research is: “design a model of Knowledge Management (KM) for the innovation in a company that focuses its portfolio of services in terms about consulting and human capital formation” chosen under the paradox that although the consultancy is an activity which exists in a very competitive environment, poorly articulates its own knowledge.
The methodology of this dissertation was as follows: first in a theoretical research was performed an analysis of the concepts innovation and knowledge management; in the same way, was done an analysis of some models of KM.
Subsequently, in the fieldwork, were done such activities focused on understanding the dynamics in which the company operates. The result of those activities was an analysis of “business efficiency” and an analysis of the “strengths” and “weakness” of the company. Finally, in the analytical work was design the knowledge management model, and were build the suggestions.
This study provides two main results based on the “knowledge spiral” which is the bridge to explain the two-dimensions of the knowledge management (because explains the fact that although the set of practices, activities and methodologies to manage the knowledge in a organization involve an organizational innovation and process innovation by itself, they also represent the basis for establishing practices that contribute to the routinization of innovation in a organization) so that, the results were as follows:
First: “the implementation of the knowledge management model proposed, in the company studied, implies the establishment of an organizational and process innovation, which will permissible the implementation of future innovations”.
Second: “to implement the knowledge management in the company studied is necessary make first some organizational changes (as related to its way to management itself, its structure organizational and the way to generate its repository of information, mainly) which support the implementation. These changes were analysis and explain in the dissertation.
