N; The plasm leptin concentration correlates with body fat even though little information we have of the effects of leptin in patients of our race under calorically restrictive diet type and its combination with a controlled aerobic exercise plan. So the aim of this study is to see this correlation in modifying both leptins levels and their correlation with body mass index and percent body fat in female patients with simple obesity. MATERIAL AND METHODS: is a longitudinal randomized deliberated intervention study. Consisting of two groups of 16 female each with simple obesity, the first intervention group with caloric restriction of 20% of the total daily intake and the second group with the same caloric restriction plus exersice program type aerobic clasting 30 minutes of moderate intensity for 12 weeks. RESULTS: Plasma concentrations of leptin, body mass index and fat mass; decreased with caloric restriction and a greater reduction in combination with physical activity. Was observed in leptin effects were similar (p=0.80) with percentage changes down ward to 55.7% on average for the group treated with diet + exercises vs 54.2% in the diet group. CONCLUSIONS:. Changes in lifestyle consisting of decrease caloric intake and increased physical activity reduces plasma leptin concentrations in obese patients.
