Authors: Norma Adriana Jiménez Velázquez, Student of the Specialty in Human Acupuncture; Dra. Ma. Guadalupe Anguiano Nagay, Dr. Juan Santiago Benito, thesis Directors. Key word: Anxiety and stress, Acupuncture, Electroacupunture. General Objective: To evaluate the best anxiolytic effect between acupuncture manual and the electroacupunture in patients with secondary anxiety to stress. Methodology: 42 patients with anxiety were recruited according the inclusion criteria. Two groups were sorted randomly, one of A=Acupunture and another one of EA=Electroacupuntura, with 21 patients each. Each session lasted 25 minutes, 2 times per week. Three measurements with the Test of Hamilton for the anxiety in first, fifith and last session were realized. Stainless steel needles were used of 1,5 cun. In the group A the Baihui point (DM 20), it was punctured in sense of the channel, with manipulation in tonifying and rotation technic with emphasis, (9 movements), with a depth of 0,5 cun, Neiguan (PC6), was punctured until obtaining the acupuntural sensation (deqi), Yintang (Ext) directed towards Shenting (DM24), with manipulation in tonifying and rotation technic with emphasis (9 movements), all of them manipulated at the beginning, the 15 min and 25 min. For group EA, the Baihui point (DM20) in sense of the channel was placed, Neiguan (PC6), until obtaining the acupuntural sensation, Yintang (Ext) directed towards Shenting (DM24), the electrode in the point Baihui (DM20) and Yintang (Ext) with a 4 frequency of Hertz, during 25 minutes was placed. Results: We concluded that Acupuncture and the Electroacupunture are equal effective for the treatment of the secondary anxiety to stress in this group of patients. In the comparative analysis of the three measurements of Hamilton Test between both groups, we concluded that there is not statistically significance between both groups (p>0.05).
