Leptoglossus zonatus is a specie polyphagous of economic importance in sorghum, walnut and mexican pinion in Mexico, however there are no studies of its life cycle and prevention. For this reason its decided to study their survival, in four host plants, its life cycle in five different environmental conditions and the risk of their occurrence in sorghum cultivated in Morelos state, México. The insect rearing was fed with corn, beans, tomato, and Mexican pinion. The most survival was observed with corn. The life cycle of the L.zonatus was 109 ± 1.4 days (29 °C and 40.53% relative humidity) to 181 ± 0.7 days (19.34 °C and 68.64% relative humidity). Using this information was calculate the number of days from egg to adult oviposition last it obtained a base temperature of 10.37 ºC and 1.680 cumulative heat units (°D), these data were processed with the program Vensim 4.2 to calculeted °D, Simpec 2.1 to calculate the number of generations of L. zonatus and Arcview 3.3 for capture on the map of Morelos the number of generations of L. zonatus in sorghum producing areas. High risk was considered the presence of three generations by year, as low risk as two generations and no risk a generation. The high risk was seen in Puente de Ixtla, Amacuzac, Mazatepec, Miacatlán, Temixco, Emiliano Zapata, Xochitepec, Zacatepec, Jojutla, Tlaltizapan, Yautepec, Ayala, Jantetelco, Jonacatepec, Axochiapan, Tepalcingo and Cuautla municipalities.
