Resumen
The aim of this study is to analyze the future prospects of secondary school students engaged in
productive activities on a regular form. The study was conducted in a region where agricultural
and agribusiness activities are relevant. The methodology captured the local meanings of future
alternatives for students, and explored how everyday social networks have an influence on their
expectations. The results show that persist discrimination against women's schooling at
Pajacuaran and therefore their expectations are expressed as a form of resistance. In Sahuayo was
found that the greater diversity of work experiences outside the family relationships do not enrich
the students' expectations for local unequal relations that limit the type of activities and the
information they access.
