This paper presents a didactic and methodological analysis of the potentialities and weaknesses of the active inverted classroom methodology applied in the teaching of concepts in the field of Statistics in a first year high school class of the Erci Campos Vargas State School in the municipality of Palmeira das Missões. In this way, a set of seven classes given was planned and executed based on the context of the presidential elections of 2018, which were analyzed in a qualitative and quantitative way in relation to the understanding of the information addressed, the capacity of positioning, debate, resolution of problems and participation in virtual activities. thus it can be seen that the active methodologies were potentially rich, since they allowed the students a greater understanding of the concepts discussed, change in relation to the way they are perceived in the classroom, and to the teacher, a new possibility to do pedagogical, based on interaction with the student, making it the main focus of teaching activities.
