This work is the result of research of the learning process, which involves becoming a medium in the context of Spiritism. For this it adopted the concept of learning that follows the studies proposed by Jean Lave and Etienne Wenger (1991) and Tim Ingold (2010). From these two approaches, we propose to investigate a research problem: How is the learning of a medium in the context of Spiritism? Thus, this research has the ethnography as a methodological perspective, and observant participation as a technique for data collection and analysis, and, as a source of data, a spiritist group in the city of Santa Maria, RS. Among the main results emphasize the existence of a community of practice that strengthens the cultural learning and attention of education focused on discipline and surveillance through interaction with the visible and the invisible, based on a donation of learning.
