dc.description.abstractThe present work sought to problematize and understand issues that permeate the Democratic Management in the aspect of a Municipal School of Elementary Education, in the Canudos neighborhood, municipality of Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, starting from the perspective of the school community. Reflect from the point of view of Democratic Management problematizing school reality and popular education to seek progress in educational practice. Also bringing to the light of the discussion the perspectives on the precepts of popular education, based on references of Freirian practices, based on texts of educators that systematize its methodological principles; and in what way we can build a representativeness in the school environment, starting from a more collaborative, human and broad vision, mainly in what concerns the construction of a school curriculum, a formation of criteria regarding the formation of a steering group, where the discussions from the aspirations of all, establishing an environment based on democracy and attentive to the participation of the agents of the educational process. The results found in this qualitative research reinforce the way the community sees the school and how the institution relates to it.
