A conservação dos acervos arquivísticos das instituições portuárias da Região Sul do Brasil: reflexão sobre planos de emergência

Abstract

This monograph aims to verify if there is an Emergency Plan that will assist in the preservation of documents in the archives of the port institutions of the Southern Region of Brazil. And, as a question of whether the existence of emergency plans applied to the archival collections of port institutions is sufficient as a conservation action?. It is a research that was identified as a descriptive purpose and transversal temporality, in which a questionnaire was applied to the Servers and / or responsible for the Archive Sector of the participating institutions of this study. It is a research that was identified as a descriptive purpose and transversal temporality, in which a questionnaire was applied to the Servers and / or responsible for the Archive Sector of the participating institutions of this study. It presents in the theoretical reference a brief approach on port institutions and their creation in Brazil, the ports in the State of Rio Grande do Sul; Santa Catarina and Paraná, in addition to the theme conservation and preservation of archival documents, as the object of this study, the Emergency Plan. The results obtained in the data collection and tabulation are presented in tables format, which, with this information, brings the conclusions. In this way, all the objectives of this work were achieved, identifying that the Emergency Plan exists, however they still have some deficiencies in the researched institutions, regarding the preservation of archival documents. It is recommended that, in fact, all those involved should know how valuable the information contained in these documents is. With regard to archival treatment, it is considered that this should be in accordance with the pre-established standards in archival management. In order to do so, it is necessary to invest more in the port institutions, both by themselves and by the Public Power, in order to preserve the documentary sets according to the archival precepts.
