dc.description.abstractThis study had as objective to identify the pointed stressors by the nursing team in the care of woman with breast cancer, as well as knowing the confrontation strategies more used by them. It is a descriptive field research, with quantitative boarding, developed in the Tocogynecological Unit of the Hospital Universitário de Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul. Two instruments were used: Daily Activities in Tocogynecological Unit Survey Form, adapted from Bianchi, and Jalowiec Coping Inventory. After the collection, data had been organized in an electronic spread sheet, on Excel program (Office, 2007), creating a data base, in which the study variables had been distributed, so that, later, they could be analyzed electronically with SAS - 8.02 version and Statistica - version 7.1. The evaluation of Daily Activities in Tocogynecological Unit Survey Form trustworthiness was carried through by the analysis of the internal consistency of its items, by Cronbach s Alpha Method. Through the results it was verified that the studied population was composed by 26 women, married, with predominant age between the 41-50 years old, with children, working in the institution between 11-15 years and in the unit between 1-5 years. The subjective demands in the care had been identified as more stressing and interpersonal relationship as less stressing. It was observed that 46.15% of these women had gotten low level of stress, 30.77% average level, 15,38% stress alert and 7,70% with the highest level. The style of coping more used was the optimist for 40% of the population, confirming the formulated hypothesis.
