dc.description.abstractBrazilian education has undergone major transformations and changes in recent decades , overcoming significant barriers , especially with regard to expansion , access and increasing the number of places in public schools. Thus, some monitoring mechanisms were put in place , with the intention to closely monitor the effectiveness of public policies . One, the IDEB - Index of Basic Education Development accompanying the Brazilian educational performance .Therefore , their study is of great importance , and which was the objective of this research , auxiliandor in understanding what constitutes quality education from the school studied , as well as knowing how she uses the results of IDEB . . For this , we used as a literature search methodology and case study , where the results of IDEB school in the study were analyzed to understand educational dynamics in the school in question , listening to the segments of the school community through questionnaires . The results point to the need for a more careful look at the rates achieved using them as a starting point for improvement , supporting future practices that will help in the effort to overcome the own brands of public schools .
