A inserção do fisioterapeuta na atenção básica como estratégia de promoção e prevenção no âmbito do Sistema Único de Saúde

Abstract

The Family Health Strategies proposal has as its main focus the reorganization of work in health, with the basic attention being the area of concentration of efforts, with the action of the Physiotherapist in the Strategy, assuming its legacy of multiplier of promotion of health, well-being and physical aptitude. The objective of this research is to characterize the insertion of the physiotherapist in the Family Health Strategy, through the identification of the forms of integration of this service, as well as the potentialities, difficulties and challenges of this professional in Primary Care. This article is characterized as a narrative review of literature, based on the search in the Scielo and BIREME databases. Some elements identified in the study indicate that the inclusion of physiotherapy professionals in FHSs is still limited in some regions. However, in benefited regions, the population shows great satisfaction with the services provided. The role of physiotherapy is related not only to rehabilitation, but also to prevention and health stimulation. Studies show that the physiotherapist plays a relevant role in basic health care, working in the avoidance of the disease and its hazards, rehabilitation and improvement of the quality of life of the population.
